Former Vontobel CMO Henry Detering has taken up the reins as Global CMO at Neuberger Berman.

Henry started the role in the first week of March, having left Vontobel in February after just under two years at the company.

Founded in 1939, global asset manager Neuberger Berman has over $420 billion in AUM.

While at Vontobel Henry’s priorities as CMO had been organising the marketing team to reflect the firm’s new structure as it evolved from a holding company (including asset management, wealth management and investment banking) to a more holistic investment firm.

He also built on the firm’s brand story as a “globally operating investment manager with Swiss roots”, adding a narrative around “empowering investors to build better futures”.

Prior to Vontobel, Henry worked at Lazard Asset Management for just under 17 years, spending seven years as Managing Director for Global Marketing and Global Head of Central Marketing Services. His responsibilities were guiding and coordinating corporate, channel and product marketing initiatives and delivering marketing operations support for all sales channels.

“I am thrilled to join such a storied institution, and I look forward to being a part of its exciting future,” Henry posted on LinkedIn.
