Metro Bank has appointed a new Head of Brand, who brings experience from both in and outside the financial services sector.

Jamileh Tufail’s most recent role was a six year tenure as Head of Brand & Customer Communications at Principality Building Society.

Prior to this, she worked in a range of agency roles, including a large amount of out-of-sector experience. At ThirtyThree she headed up reputation management work at McDonald’s and campaigns to engage young people at the British Army.

Other agency experience includes George Patterson Y&R, Decoder, OneAgent and Euro RSCG.

Metro Bank was initially known as a disruptive new high street bank when it opened its doors in 2010, but had not done any traditional marketing. It undertook a project to build its brand distinctiveness under Jessica Myers, who left last summer to move to the Very Group.

The current Marketing and Brands Director is Danielle Lee, who started in August 2022.
