HSBC hires tech specialist to head commercial marketing

HSBC has appointed a new Global CMO for its commercial division, who brings experience from digital banks and the tech sector.

Nicole German took on the role in July, heading B2B marketing for the Global Commercial Banking and Global Banking & Markets businesses. Her role includes delivering customer value and experience-driven marketing and innovation.

Prior to this, Nicole worked as Chief Marketing and Digital Experience Officer at Tangerine, a Canadian digital bank.

Before this, she worked at Tangerine’s parent organisation, Scotiabank, spending four years as Global Head and Vice President for Enterprise Digital Marketing, Sales and Growth.

Earlier in her career she worked in various roles in the tech sector, including heading up Canadian marketing for software provider SAP and global enterprise marketing for LinkedIn.
