Eco-focused bank Tandem has hired a new marketing chief who brings experience from major incumbents in the sector.

Chris Parker began the role in November, joining after over eleven years at Santander. Founded in 2014, Tandem offers saving and lending products targeted at green property investments.

He was most recently Head of Retail Marketing for Santander UK. While there he developed the creative and purpose-led brand strategies, led integrated campaigns and designed a new operating model for the marketing team.

He also held roles at Santander heading up marketing communications and leading social media effectiveness. Prior to this he worked at Royal Bank of Scotland.

“Tandem Bank is the UK’s first green digital bank, helping our customers move towards a greener, more sustainable future,” Chris wrote on Twitter.

“I’ll be leading the marketing strategy, helping my new team to build our brand and embed our mission across all aspects of our marketing & comms.”
