Rathbones has appointed a new Group Marketing Director, who brings decades of experience from Investec and American Express.

Iain Clark began the role in February, joining from Rathbones Group subsidiary Investec, where he was most recently Marketing Director Wealth and Private Banking. Prior to that he headed up marketing for the UK and for the UK retail bank.

He worked at American Express from 1998 to 2012, holding various marketing positions and rising to Marketing Director.

Iain takes over marketing responsibility from interim CMO Martin McGovern, who had held the position jointly with the role of Chief Client Officer since June last year.

In January 2023, Rathbones announced it had hired Anne-Marie McConnon for the role of Chief Client Officer, but she tragically died in May 2023 shortly after beginning the role.

The firm launched a new brand identity in July, evolving the compass symbol to “create a sharper, more coherent brand image”.
