Direct Line’s Head of Customer Value has stepped up as interim Marketing Director as the insurer’s long-serving Head of Marketing leaves the firm.

Wendy Moores, who has now moved to car financing start-up Carmoola, had been in the role for over 10 years. She had joined the firm in 2002 as Campaign Manager, rising through various roles including heading up marketing for home and growth products.

As Head of Marketing she oversaw a period where Direct Line undertook two major brand campaigns. The first was the Fixer with Pulp Fiction’s Winston Wolf in 2014, credited with restoring Direct Line’s brand equity and turning around its fortunes.

The other was the later We’re On It, involving superheroes such as the Transformers.

Direct Line’s Managing Director for Marketing and Digital, Mark Evans, also stepped down at the end of last year to move into a portfolio of varied roles.

Sam’s background includes senior marketing leadership roles at Nuffield Health, Gumtree and T-Mobile.
