The changes to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Appointed Representatives (AR) regime, set out in policy statement (PS22/11), came into force on 8 December 2022. These changes impact all firms that currently have ARs or intend to appoint ARs in the future, and also impact ARs themselves (including introducer ARs). These changes are intended to improve the oversight of advisory firms and make the principal more responsible for their activities.

How have firms dealt with the changes and what impact will they have on the day to day running of a network?  Will the changes make consumers safer? And will they have an effect on lenders and how they interact with intermediary firms ?

We will hear from trade association leaders, major advisory firms and lenders.
