In this session we look outside the financial sector to the world of luxury goods to hear their marketing strategies to address, engage and retain a customer base who expect the best.

Michelle Emmerson, CEO, Walpole Group

Michelle Emmerson is the CEO of Walpole, the not-for-profit organisation that represents over 170 British luxury brands including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Mulberry, Harrods and Jimmy Choo. Prior to Walpole, Michelle was Group Services and People Director at ASOS.com, where she was responsible for business units including Customer Service, Studios, Production, People and Corporate Responsibility. Michelle has also held various board level and senior roles at two other great British brands: BBC Worldwide and EMI Music. In addition, she has worked with the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and The Official Charts Company, and is an Advisory Board Member for World Child Cancer and Non-Executive Director at Come Round

 

Laurent Feniou, Managing Director, Cartier

Laurent Feniou has been the Managing Director of Cartier UK for the past two years. Prior to joining Cartier, Laurent spent twenty years as an investment banker. Laurent joined Cartier from Rothschild where he was Managing Director in London. After graduating from ESCP (École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris) in the early nineties, Laurent started his career as a Navy officer at the French Embassy in Madrid. He then joined Credit Suisse First Boston and worked in London, New York, Palo Alto and Paris. He worked for the Rothschild Bank for 12 years and, during his time there, he advised many European companies across a wide range of Mergers and Acquisitions, Privatisations and Corporate Finance transactions. Laurent is a French Foreign Trade advisor and a board member of his former business school, ESCP.

 

John Stevenson, Managing Director, The Private Office London

John Stevenson has held senior management positions with some of the worlds’ leading luxury brands. These have included: Export Director at Thomas Goode & Company, Middle East Director at Edmiston, Senior Export Sales at Asprey, Middle East & Emerging Markets Director at Sotheby's. His responsibility for key client relationships and business development has given him unique and direct contact with well known business leaders, personalities, Royal Families and high net worth individuals. John currently works for a Middle Eastern Royal Family and is also Head of Private Clients at Holland & Holland.
