Huw Davies

Huw founded FrontFoot in 2019, driven by a belief and a passion that open banking could be the biggest catalyst for change and force for good in a lifetime. Having spent the last 23 years in the payments and financial services industry, at the cutting edge of innovation and digital payments, he brings deep expertise and experience in creating and delivering transformational go to market strategies at both major corporates and fintech / start ups. Huw is also currently the Ecosystem Development Director for the UK Open Banking Implementation Entity, where he is leading efforts to grow the open banking ecosystem, drive adoption and develop the open banking standard and propositions to support the needs of the market.
Prior to this Huw was Chief Commercial Officer at Token, a pioneering open banking technology platform which was the first in the world to make real open banking payments. He developed the go to market strategy and led the team to significant, company defining success, working with banks, regulators, global networks and third parties, driving the open banking agenda and delivering real open banking use cases. Huw has held senior leadership roles managing multi billion dollar revenue lines at a number of major banks and payment organisations, such as HSBC (as Global Head of Payments), MasterCard (as Head of Emerging Payments) and Barclays (where he ran multiple businesses over 17 years). Huw also sits on the Advisory Board for the Emerging Payments Association.
