The Forum Buzz: a treasure hunt winner and the age of ESG

What a week.

Our FS Martech conference on Wednesday was fantastic. Over the course of the morning we heard from the likes of Raj Kumar, Group Brand and Reputation Director at Aviva, Emmeline Kite, Head of Planning and Strategy at Incidia, Lee Allan, Global CTO at Indicia as well as two excellent speakers from Deloitte Digital; Deborah Womack, Director and Richard Love, Head of Customer Experience, to name just a few.

We’ll be publishing a post-event report in a few weeks’ time, outlining the key learnings from each session and provide some pointers on actionable takeaways for you to share with your wider team.

Congratulations to our martech treasure hunt winner, Yağmur Zimmermann!

During the event, eagle-eyed attendees had the chance to look for clues hidden in sponsor booths and solve a puzzle. Yağmur, Communications Executive at AKG Financial Analytics, wins £100 in John Lewis vouchers. Thank you so much to everyone who took part – I hope you had fun!

Mining member insights and knowledge.

As well as providing weekly event summaries, Alex has been busy interviewing members, industry trailblazers and general persons of marketing interest. I myself am yet to get my hands on the resulting articles and opinion pieces (yep, it’s that top secret!) – but I can tell you that, given the brands I know Alex has spoken to so far, I’m really excited to do so. And I think you will be too.

Lined up for publication are interviews with Starling Bank, Direct Line, Ninety One and Tandem Bank, to name just a few that I know of. We will be previewing the stories in the newsletter, but make sure to keep an eye on the Knowledge Centre here in the coming weeks

Next week: a private banking and wealth management roundtable and purpose in an age of ESG

Two excellent events upcoming next week. On Tuesday, our Private Banking and Wealth Management will be meeting for a senior roundtable discussion, which will kick off with a scene setter from Newgate Communications Head of Professional and Financial Services, Charles Ansdell.

The conversation will centre around the future of the industry, including how customer behaviours and needs are changing, and who – and what type of competitors – may disrupt the market in the coming years. There is still time to join us, with the event taking place from 0930-1030am on Tuesday morning.

On Thursday, don’t miss out on hearing from Graham Lloyd, Director of Strategy Performance and Sustainability, Nationwide Building Society, Pernille Sahl Taylor, Chief Communications Officer UK, Handelsbanken and Dr James Wilde, Chief Sustainability Officer, The Phoenix Group, in a discussion chaired by Tony Langham, Chief Executive of Lansons.

Graham, Pernille and Dr Wilde will be talking about what ESG means to their respective organisations in 2021 and how they are challenging themselves to be and do better, without waiting for their hand to be forced by regulation and public pressure.

Have a lovely weekend, I look forward to seeing you soon.

Jasmine
