London & Capital (L&C) and Waverton have announced their new consolidated brand: W1M.

Set to launch in June, the brand alludes to both the name Waverton Investment Managers and the London postcode where London & Capital was originally based.

The merger, announced in February last year and completed in July, creates one of the largest wealth managers in the UK, with over £21 billion in assets under management. L&C is a specialist in international wealth management, while Waverton is an independent investment manager.

The brand said it will retain the investment philosophy of both firms, defined as “global, active and direct”, addressing the increasing complexity, internationalisation and intergeneration requirements of wealthy families.

Guy McGlashan, Chief Executive Officer, said: “As we embark on a new chapter, our name represents the combination of two exceptional businesses into one integrated firm.

“W1M will bring together global wealth advice, an award-winning investment proposition, and best-in-class consolidated reporting for the ultimate benefit of our clients.

“It also signifies the creation of a united team of talented people, committed to meeting the diverse, complex and cross-border needs of clients; a single company that responds to market challenges with innovation and enthusiasm; and a trusted partner dedicated to securing the long-term prosperity of clients wherever they may be.”
