St. James’s Place (SJP) has hired a new Chief Client Officer, who brings experience from both the asset management and consultancy worlds.

Rob Sanders started the role in March, having previously worked at DOOR, a fintech business which looked to reimagine the exchange of due diligence information in asset management.

Prior to this, he worked for ten years at Aberdeen Asset Management, where he rose through various marketing positions to become Head of Group Marketing.

In this role he had full ownership of the global marketing budget, wth direct responsibility for marketing in all countries and across all client channels, as well as building the firm’s corporate profile.

Prior to Aberdeen Asset Management, he held positions at Investit (now part of Accenture), Russell Investment Group, Deutsche Asset Management and LGIM

“I’m incredibly excited to join SJP at this interesting and transformative time,” Rob commented. “I’ve admired the SJP business model for some time, along with how its faced into the reputational challenges over the last couple of years.

“Building better and more client centric comms and marketing and experience is something close to my heart and I can’t wait to start working with the team at SJP to deliver this.”

The position was previously held by Claire Blackwell, who left SJP in December.
