Royal London appoints Barclays veteran as brand chief

Royal London has appointed a new head of brand, bringing experience from the grocery and retail banking sectors.

Stuart Ellams was appointed Group Brand and Strategy Director in February.

He joins from Barclays, where he was Marketing Strategy & Planning Director. He spent 10 years in total at the bank, heading up marketing at the current accounts and Premier businesses.

Prior to Barclays, he worked at Tesco, heading up brand at its ebook business and managing brand communications.

Commenting on the move on LinkedIn, Stuart said:

“After nearly 10 incredible years at Barclays, I’ve made the tough but exciting decision to embark on a new chapter in my career. The journey has been filled with brilliant people, countless proud moments, and invaluable experiences that will forever define this part of my professional story. A huge thank you to everyone for the opportunities along the way!
