Monzo has launched its first ever global brand platform, centring on the idea of easing people’s monetary worries so they can focus on living life.

The ‘Get Busy Living’ platform features 10 single-shot films focused on everyday life moments, with Monzo appearing unobtrusively in each one to show how its features allow people to take care of their money in the background. Narrated by Peep Show and the Crown actress Olivia Colman, the ads feature famous songs such as ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ and ‘Careless Whisper’.

The launch also introduces a new sonic identity based around the letters in the Monzo name, which will feature across advertising and social media.

The concept will also expand to other channels, partnering with Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast, and through an ambassador programme on social media working with 11 content creators. The fintech will also activate it through an out-of-home campaign spanning Waterloo Motion and Piccadilly Lights.

Monzo worked with agency BBH London on the new platform.

AJ Coyne, Group Chief Marketing Officer at Monzo, said: “The best banking experience is the one that gives you total control without demanding your constant attention. For too long, the default state of banking has left people feeling like money is just something that happens to them. But we know the incredible power that is unlocked by confidence, agency and seamless tools.

“Today, customers trust us with more of their financial lives than ever before, and Get busy living reflects that evolution. It’s about giving people the time back, to focus on the people, passions and moments that matter most.”
