Monument has hired Starling’s former brand chief as it seeks to expand in the fintech wealth space.

Rachel Kerrone started the position of Director of Brand & Marketing in March. There she will help the challenger bank grow its digital-first offering for mass affluent customers.

She held the same job title at Starling from 2017 to 2025, working with founder Anne Boden to build the brand into a household name with over 4 million customer accounts.

Rachel had previously worked at Royal Bank of Scotland for seven years, as well as at JP Morgan for two years.

“After many years at Starling building a brand around helping people get better with money, it’s time for the next challenge,” Rachel wrote on LinkedIn. “This time helping customers make their money work harder and build real wealth for the future.

“Same obsession with putting customers first, bigger ambition. The team here has built something genuinely exciting, and I can’t wait to get stuck in!”
