In this month’s Consumer Confidence Briefing, John Gilbert finds that consumer confidence is up in 3 UK regions, but down in 3 others.
Additionally, saving confidence improved in the month of May versus April, but remains below the equivalent May 2019 position. Confidence in employment outlook remains depressed, down 29 points versus last year, with a net balance of 56% of adults (57%, April and 28% a year ago) stating that they believe unemployment will rise in the next 12 months.
