L&G Asset Management has appointed its top marketer to the newly created position of Chief Marketing Officer.

Andy McQuillan took on the role in August, moving from the position of Global Director of Marketing, which he had held for nearly seven years.

He commented in a LinkedIn post that the new title recognised the marketing department’s shift to becoming a strategic driver for the business. His changes have included centralising the marketing team and bringing key functions in house.

He wrote: “From brand and creative, to channel and product marketing, to content, proposals, events, digital, data, compliance and more — the breadth and impact of the team’s delivery always impresses me deeply. It’s made possible by the talent, drive and commitment of each of our marketing professionals around the world.

“I’m immensely proud to continue leading this outstanding team and excited for what’s ahead.”

L&G Asset Management was created from a combination of Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) and Legal & General Capital, the firm’s alternative assets division, in 2024. The move created a unified brand to present both public and private asset management solutions, which at the time of writing has £1.117 trillion in AUM.

Prior to joining LGIM, Andy held roles at Vanguard and EFG Bank.
