Leek Building Society hires PayPal exec to head marketing

Leek Building Society has hired a Head of Marketing, who brings experience from brands such as PayPal and GE Capital.

Muhammad Naveed started the role in March. The role will see him overseeing brand growth, customer engagement and PR across the mutual’s financial advice, insurance, mortgages and savings offerings.

Before starting this role, he worked for over a year at V.A.P, a data and analytics software company.

Before that, he worked for over two years at PayPal, where he was Director for Strategy, Growth and Partnerships. In this role he led the marketing team for EMEA for accelerated innovation and development of new products and services via partners.

Prior to this, he worked at other financial institutions such as Millenia, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and GE Capital.

Leek is the UK’s 17th biggest building society, with over £1.5 billion in assets.
