HSBC has appointed an insider to head up marketing services across its B2B banking arm.

Sarah Mayall started the role of Global Head of Marketing Services for the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division in March.

She has worked at HSBC for just over seven years in various roles, most recently as director of global ESG marcomms. Before that she was Director of Brand Marketing for over five years.

Prior to HSBC, Sarah worked at NatWest group subsidiary RBS for eight years, heading up various aspects of marketing strategy, including digital, channel and branch.

The CIB division encompasses HSBC’s financial services offering for corporates and institutions as well as governments. It was created as part of a restructure at the end of 2024, uniting all of the firm’s wholesale banking teams, products, and services. The restructure split HSBC into four core divisions:  UK, Hong Kong, CIB and International Wealth and Premier Banking.

“This simpler, more agile structure will enhance our ability to deliver internationally-focused solutions for corporate and institutional clients, leveraging our scale, talented people, unmatched international network, and market-leading capabilities across trade, payments, markets, and corporate finance,” HSBC said in a statement at the time.
