GAM Investments has hired an Amundi sales leader to head up its distribution in the UK and Channel Islands.

Having started the role in November, Steven will lead the sales team, reporting directly to Rossen Djounov, Global Head of Client Solutions. He will manage key client relationships and spearhead efforts to introduce GAM’s strategies to new clients.

He joins from a position as Senior Sales Manager at Amundi Asset Management, where he drove active fund sales in the UK wholesale market for five and a half years.

Prior to working at Amundi, Steven was Head of UK and Middle East Fund Sales at Alquity Investment Management. He has also worked at the FT Group and Fitch Group.

Steven commented: “I believe GAM is a hidden gem. I was immediately attracted to the compelling product set, where specialist expertise and high conviction have generated alpha over time. I’ve also been incredibly impressed by how the business has cultivated commercial relationships with highly skilled strategic partners, particularly in the alternatives space, to provide UK clients with access to great investment teams and opportunities.

“Drawing on my 14 years of experience in asset management, I am certain that the investment range at GAM will add tangible value to the portfolios of UK investors through the differentiated, lower correlated returns.”

Rossen Djounov, Global Head of Client Solutions, said: “Steven’s extensive experience and client-centric approach make him a valuable addition to our team. His belief in GAM’s new strategic direction, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence will drive our teams to deliver best-in-class investment strategies and services to the UK’s investors.

“We are confident that his leadership will further strengthen our distribution efforts and enhance our client relationships in the UK and Channel Islands.”
