When MetLife entered the UK market in 2007, they were unknown and their innovative unit-linked guarantees were widely misunderstood and disliked by advisers. Despite the financial crisis, by 2011 MetLife had become the UK’s fastest growing life company supported by 10% of IFAs, voted Company of the Year and had sales of £1bn-plus.
