BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed an insider as its new Global CMO.

Pieter de Marez Oyens took on the role in July, moving internally from heading up global product strategy.

He has been at the firm for over ten years, with prior experience at RBS and ABN AMRO Asset Management in Asia.

The Global CMO role was previously held by Paul Van Eynde between February 2022 and 2024. Before that it was held by Roger Miners, who went on to become the firm’s Head of Distribution.

BNP Paribas badges itself as “the sustainable investor for a changing world”, and has unequivocally embraced sustainability and ESG at a time when many in the industry are shying away from talking about it.

Speaking to the FSF, Pieter said: “I am very proud to be appointed CMO and look forward to further strengthening BNP Paribas AM’s marketing activities.”
