BlackRock has launched a new content format designed to bring out the human stories of its fund managers.

The 3+1 Active Investor series features senior investment professionals from BlackRock talking about “three things you need to know and one thing you don’t”.

The first episode, published on 4 May, features the firm’s Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income Rick Rieder. In the short video, lasting less than three minutes in total, he covers topics such as bonds and inflation as well as sharing details about his love of Disneyland.

3+1 is the latest effort by an asset manager to humanise their fund managers by getting them to talk about something outside finance. Last year, M&G Investments launched its Dream Machine podcast, which features its fund managers talking about their favourite vending machine snacks.
