AXA is staking out ground in the mental health space with a new mental health tool.

The free online questionnaire provides users with an individualised health assessment, offering advice to understand how their lifestyle and beliefs influences their mental health.

The company said the tool had been built from its research, with the goal to change perceptions of mental health, shifting the focus from stigmas to positive behaviours.

AXA said the tool ties into its position as an insurance company, recognising the risk to businesses posed by mental health and wellbeing issues. The company cited figures showing they cause 12 billion lost working days per year, amounting to $1 trillion in lost productivity.

The tool is available in 13 countries and 10 languages.

“This new tool is a resource for anyone looking to understand and improve their mental well-being,” said Patrick Cohen Chief Executive Officer of AXA European Markets & Health. “By providing information and personalised support, AXA intends to continue to support everyone with innovative solutions and dedicated support. Our role as an insurance company is to be on the front line of risk management and people’s health and well-being. This obviously involves compensation, but also and above all by strengthening prevention.”

AXA recently launched a new brand campaign focused on self-employed people.
