Will the FAMR proposals close the advice gap?

MA

Politicians, regulators and the industry agree that there is an advice gap. The Financial Advice Market Review, held jointly by HM Treasury and the FCA, built on changes made to the financial advice industry brought about by the RDR, and looked at how to make financial advice work better for consumers.

The final report was published earlier this year.

While the review itself is over, the industry, policy makers and regulators need to work together to take the recommendations forward.

At this event, held under the Chatham House Rule, we bring together a panel of experts to focus on whether the final FAMR recommendations will really address the advice gap.

Panel includes:

  • David Geale, Director of Policy, Financial Conduct Authority
  • James Dunne, Head of Investment Platform, Wealth Management & Private Banking, Santander UK
  • Roy McLoughlin, Partner, Master Adviser
  • Tony Langham, Chief Executive, Lansons (Chair)
  • Further panellists to be announced
