Practitioner Membership Rules

Practitioner Membership
Practitioner membership of The Financial Services Forum is for directors and partners of companies within the advertising, direct marketing, digital, media planning and buying, design, branding, sponsorship, sales promotion, public relations, research and evaluation fields.

Guests and alternates
We appreciate that Practitioner Members will be unable to attend all our scheduled events or may feel a colleague is better placed to take advantage of a particular topic.  To offer some flexibility on how to use membership, Practitioner Members are given the opportunity send a senior alternate on up to four occasions during their membership year.

Practitioner Members can also invite up to three guests from financial services companies per event.  However, a guest can only attend one event each, before joining the Forum in their own right.

All guests and alternates must be of a senior level within their organisation, who will be able to contribute to the debate and engage with our other Members.

Membership passwords
Each Practitioner Member is given a password to access to the online Knowledge Centre archive.  We request that Practitioner Members do not forward this password to their colleagues.  If Practitioner Members would like a colleague to research a topic on their behalf, The Forum can provide additional temporary passwords for their team.  Please contact Richard Nolan on rn@thefsforum.co.uk for additional access requests.

Replacements
Practitioner Membership is on an individual basis rather than by organisation.  However, we appreciate that the majority of subscription fees are paid for by the organisation.  If a Practitioner Member leaves their organisation within their membership year, we allow:

• The Practitioner Member to carry the subscription and membership status to their new employer until renewal is due at the end of their membership year;
• A senior replacement at their previous organisation can inherit membership and experience The Forum free of charge until the end of that membership year.

For replacement notifications, please email Louise Maile.

All replacements must be at the appropriate level within their organisation.

Event bookings and cancellations
All Practitioner events (excluding the Annual Members’ Dinner) are free for our Practitioner Members to attend and we do not charge for cancellations.  However, we do request that all attendees inform us as soon as possible should they no longer be able to attend an event.  This allows us to adjust catering arrangements.

New Business Restrictions
All the events open to Practitioner Members will include a large number of senior financial services executives.  Although we appreciate that networking is a key benefit of Practitioner membership, we require that Practitioner Members limit their direct sales activity during our events – our Forums are for strategic debate, not salesmanship. If any Practitioner Member causes offence with a heavy sales approach, we reserve the right to cancel their Membership with immediate effect.
